Which hack device to buy?

I'm picking up the game tommorrow, and have NO clue about which device I should buy (GameShark, Action Replay, etc)

I'll read through the FAQs once I get everything, but which is the easiest one to use?

I want to be able to download saves, as well as unlock all the required hacks for CAWs (hair, layer, etc). That's all I really need the hack is for the CAW mode, I don't want to unlock EVERYTHING.

I'm in Canada, which is NTSC, so that's a factor too.

I must apoligize for all the noob nonsense, but I just want to make sure I buy the right hack tommorrow when I get the game.

Any help/advice is appreciated. Thanks.

I here codebreaker is the way to go for Hacks. I have AR Max NTSC and I dont have any problems with it. I do recommend that if you get a save device go ahead and download the code conversion tools and the save conversion tools it will make your life easier.

Easiest Device to use?

Well Codebreaker and Gameshark are the easiest to use. They are identical devices made from different companies. I have a Gameshark and it is a great device, but I would suggest a Codebreaker if possible because it is cheaper. Both these devices can use devices purchased separatly for using SAVES. Gameshark requires a sharkport and Codebreaker I'm not sure about.

AR MAX EVO Comes with a Max Drive and you will be ready to use SAVES from the get go. AR MAX compared to the other devices is slower and takes longer to input codes. That's the only bad side.

But ALL these devices can use the same hacks from Code X.

I just registered on Code X, and found the code index quite helpful.

I noticed this (just as reference):

Layer ID Modifiers*
(CB2 & GS2v3+ [NTSC]) I (GS2v3+ [PAL] & Xploder)

Layer Movement Modifiers*
(CB2 & GS2v3+ [NTSC]) I (GS2v3+ [PAL] & Xploder)


So, are there codes for Action Replay for the layer modification?

Yes. Whatever is not posted in AR MAX at Code X....simply means that it is too much work to convert ALL the possiblities.

Some codes require you to fill in ???? values at the end of a code.

Example:
Breast size CAW 1
E0030099 0000????

Breast size CAW 2
E003009A 0000????

etc..

Breast Size values

0000 = small breast
000A = medium breast
00FF = Ultra large breast

See how that can be annoying when trying to post codes in AR MAX form.

However, if you want certain codes in AR MAX format...all that you need to do is put the code together as you would with Codebreaker or Gameshark, then it can easily be converted to AR MAX for you.

I just bought a new gameshark. It's the one that says "compatable for Playstation 2) underneath Gameshark 2. the disc says its vers.1.1. I can not figure out which codes to use. Someone please help me out. I looked at the unlock everything code and it apears you must have ver. 3 or 4. Is this so.

That Gameshark WILL work. For some reason the idiots at Gameshark made GSv1.1 when in reality it was supposed to be GSv6.1 I have no clue why they named it v1.1.

But yes it works with the GS2v3+ codes.
