What can you do to help?
With the amount of new content being added to the SCA all the time, every bit really does help. So what can you do to help?
Here is a list of the little things you can do to help me get your CAW onto the site. Please take the time to read it, it will take you a few minutes to do these things, but could save me a few hours.
Taking pics with a digital camera? I don't want to see 5 full screen sized pics of your CAW. I have to resize each one of them, cut off the excess space around the actual CAW, and then put the 5 pics together into one image, then make that image smaller, then save it, before I can even think about putting it on a web page. This takes a lot of time when multiplied by all the CAWs I have to add each week! So.. please resize all your pics to a reasonable size, and try to include them in one image. This makes things a hell of a lot easier for me, and only takes up a few minutes of your time. This can all be done with the simple-to-use tools in MSPaint. To get to MSPaint use Start > Programs > Accessories > Paint.
When saving your image, please save it as a JPEG format.
Do you have help pics with your CAW?
If so, please try to include them all in one image. Only show the bits that you really need. eg. Showing a tattoo on his leg, you only need to show that bit, not the whole CAW. That way you can fit as many help pics as you need into one small image. Using MSPaint, you can even use the text feature to add Layer # under each pic if you need to. Then instead of posting separate help pics in the formula, you can post ONE big help pic at the top of the formula. Please do not post image links in with your formula, put them at the top, and in the formula type "refer to help pics at the top" or something. I don't want to have to scroll through all your help pic links, make them into one image, and then remove them from the formula again.
Do not post your CAW on the submissions board. Post a LINK to your CAW. That way I can make a list of all the links I need to visit easily.
When you do post a link to a CAW for me. Put it like this:
NAME OF CAW
LINK
Make sure you include the name of it, and the link on the line underneath, in that order, and don't put big gaps in between the lines.
Ideally, at the end of it I should have this:
Name of CAW
Link to the CAW
I click on the link, I click on the pic and save it, I click on the help pic (if there is one) and save it. Then I copy the formula and put it onto a web page.
Simple - no time wasted.
