please give advice on how to make it better, even though i felt i did great on this

not ur best, use a diffrent bg, different text(the FF text from dafont.com) and a different renders(not so cartoony) BTW how did you get the bg like that?? and how do you get the renders you use look like PSDs?

for the bg, take the rectangle select and select one pixel size and stretch it out a lot. and for the renders to look like psd's, duplicate the render, and add a guasian blur at 10, move that under the not blurred pic and set the one on top do a different blending mode

and i was going for the cartoony effect

That BG affect is overused (not your fault)
Im not liking the text at all
and whats up wth the ripple affect around Cloud?

Umm the render is a cartoon if u havent noticed

Its ok, its a basic pixel stretch,
like nwo4life said why did u use a ripple effect around render

Its really just basic

i tried to make it look like he was fading into the bg (didnt turn out too well)

u coulda used ur fading round eraser and brushed the outsides of the render

ok i put on a diff. text, put on some scanlines and got rid of the ripple effect. any better?

what blending mode do you set your renders at? and yeah change it for your sig

i usually put grain merge, soft light for a glow, and darken only for a more cartoonish effect
